Hello
Sharon Hobart has been living in Siouxland for 60 years. Before becoming an artist, Sharon taught visual arts to children and young adults, preschool through college, for 38 years in Siouxland. Many of her students still live in the area. Sharon has been blessed with a caring and supportive husband, three children and eight grandchildren. Miles and jobs make connecting difficult.
My Story
"My artwork reflects my passion for life and hope and healing for tomorrow. I love the nonjudgmental spontaneous reactions and the creativity of children. I love to create images that bring joy and peace and hope to this sad and dying world."
"Sioux City is a wonderful place to live, and I thank God every day for blessing me with so many wonderful friends and family. I love the weather in Siouxland. I love the four seasons. I love the hustle bustle of downtown Sioux City, so full of energy and hope. I love the rolling hills of Siouxland, fields of corn and wheat, and soy beans. I love the small communities and all the local businesses and events that are occurring everywhere. I wish I could visit all the wonderful places and attend the events, but at 78, I think I'll hang out at 3 Rivers Gallery or Ill paint at home and make a huge mess! Hope to see you some Saturday or at an Art Center event!"
Sharon is currently painting, exhibiting, and selling her artwork at 3 Rivers Art Gallery, located in the Ho-Chunk Centre, located downtown Sioux City, IA. Sharon's studio is open to the public on Saturdays, from 10 am until 1:00 pm and for special events or showings by appointment. Stop in if you're in the area!
Sharon's favorite medias are watercolors, acrylics, and earth friendly, water-soluble oils. She also enjoys creating mixed media 3D collages.
